The Mamaroneck Historical Society presents Typhoid Mary

Dr. Darla Shaw presents Typhoid Mary: the story of the epidemic in the early 1900's that started in Mamaroneck, NY. Dr. Darla Shaw, former resident of Mamaroneck, currently lives in Connecticut and is Professor Emeritus at Western Connecticut State University. In addition to her work at WCSU, Dr. Shaw is a well- known area storyteller, presenter at literacy conferences, musician, advocate for women's issues, and humanitarian.   She has spoken on literacy topics in over 80 countries and has initiated literacy projects in thirteen, third world countries.
